Proton City Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (PCDC) is the developer of 4,000-acre township located in Tanjong Malim, Perak. The development comprises residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial parcels surrounded by lakes. PROTON’s a-state of-the-art plant and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, which has the distinction of being one of the oldest functioning institutions of higher learning in the country, are also located within the township. With PROTON moving its entire operations to Tanjong Malim by 2027, the area will see a boost of activities with more housing and retail properties being offered.
Automotive High-Technology Valley
Automotive High-Technology Valley (AHTV), located in Tanjung Malim, Perak, was launched by the Prime Minister in April 2022 and aims to change the automotive industry landscape with an integrated ecosystem that will be a catalyst to revitalise the domestic automotive sector. The development aims to attract local and foreign automotive technology players to start operations in AHTV. Besides enhancing the country’s automotive industry, AHTV can generate up to 370,000 jobs during construction, while 160,000 jobs will exist when it is fully operational. A research university is also included in the development plans for AHTV to produce a new generation of engineers for the fast-evolving automotive industry.
