DRB-HICOM are also shareholders in Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., ISUZU Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. The Group is also the exclusive distributor of Tata commercial vehicles in Malaysia.
Further augmenting its role in the automotive industry, DRB-HICOM owns the AVIS franchise in Malaysia via DRB-HICOM EZ-DRIVE Sdn. Bhd. Avis offers short-term rental as well as leasing services, including for industrial equipment.
MANUFACTURING & ENGINEERING
DRB-HICOM’s Automotive Manufacturing and Engineering business division activities focus on the development of automotive components as well as vehicle assembly. It has nine companies which are Tier-1 vendors equipped with world-class facilities and highly sought-after engineering expertise complementing our three assembly plants located in Peninsular Malaysia.
The OEM parts have world-renowned carmakers as their customers. HICOM HBPO Sdn. Bhd. (“HHBPO”), supplies front end modules, HICOM-Teck See Sdn. Bhd. (“HTS”), manufactures plastic injection parts while PHN Industry Sdn. Bhd. (“PHN”) provides metal stamping parts and other components. These subsidiaries supply components to PROTON, Honda, Porsche, MINI, BMW, Perodua and other brands.
