DEFTECH
DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (DEFTECH) is a premier defence company that sets the standards in designing, developing, manufacturing and supplying armoured and logistics vehicles to the military, homeland security, hospitals and even for public transportation use. DEFTECH is known for excellent land systems maintenance, its overhauling capabilities, and recently extended its range into the domains of aerospace, composite structures, unmanned systems and system integration. Its two main customers are the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Its long-term strategy is to develop an indigenous land combat system as well as an airborne surveillance, control and combat system through strategic collaborations with various stakeholders. In doing so, DEFTECH aims to become Malaysia’s best and most comprehensive defence contractor.
Pekan, Pahang-based DEFTECH is currently completing the supply of the AV8 Gempita to the Royal Malaysian Army. The amphibious vehicle is one of many vehicles that DEFTECh has supplied to the Government. It has also previously supplied the Adnan armoured tank, Lipan Bara 4×4 armoured vehicle and the all-purpose Handalan 150-tonne truck, among others.
DEFTECH also actively seeks life extension programmes or LEPs for their existing products in service with their customers. This involves refurbishment and repairs of products in service, offering customers better budget control.
CTRM
CTRM is a leading composites aero-structure manufacturer in ASEAN, supplying Tier 1 and other OEM companies that provide essential components to leading names in aviation, such as French giant, Airbus SE and USA’s The Boeing Company (“Boeing”). It is supported by three subsidiaries, namely CTRM Aero Composites Sdn. Bhd. (“AC”), CTRM Composites Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (“CE”) and CTRM Testing Laboratory Sdn. Bhd. (“CTRM TL”).
CTRM Group is firmly established in the local and international aerospace sphere, and has been supporting the Malaysia Aerospace Blueprint 2030 by bringing in major projects to the country. Its subsidiary CE is making its mark in the manufacture of radar antenna domes (or radomes).
